If you are driving a car, you should be aware that
the Washington DC Metro area has the second highest
traffic volume and congestion in the United States (behind
Los Angeles), according to USA Today newspaper. You
should expect to experience significant congestion and
delays during rush hour (6:30am to 9:00am, and 4:00pm
to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday) in the following places:
1. Woodrow Wilson Bridge on Interstate 95/495, crossing
between Maryland and Virginia.
2. Interstate 395, especially crossing the Potomac
River between Washington DC and Virginia.
3. Interstate 66 Eastbound in the morning, and Westbound
in the evening.
4. Route 1 North from the Beltway (Interstate 495)
to King Street in the morning, and South from King Street
to the Beltway in the evening.
