POSITION DUTIES: Work for and very closely w/ hotel owner & director to achieve a harmonious execution of all aspects of the independent hotel mg’t business; delegate authority & assign responsibility to all employees; supervise work activities of all employees in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; ensure compliance with company standards for personnel administration and performance, and service to patrons; direct revenue management activities to determine daily room rates and restrictions; be proficient in all aspects of hospitality financial management, financial control systems design, forecasting, trend analysis, budgeting, reporting and evaluation of variances from budgeted amounts; ensure staff receive proper training for each position, including safety training and standard operating procedures; allocate funds; monitor cost controls; inspect guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds; answer patrons’ complaints and resolve problems; handle and resolve employee issues; conduct annual wage scale surveys; audit daily reports; monitor ordering and supplies; ensure employee paperwork, work schedules and payroll are completed and submitted in a timely manner; make marketing calls, attend community business functions, work with travel agents and direct bill accounts, and coordinate sales efforts and promotions.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept BA, or equivalent or foreign degree equivalent to a US bachelor degree based on a combination of education and/or work exp. in the fields of either communication or public relations or hotel/hospitality mg’t or mg’t or rltd. field, and 1 yr exp. as a hotel general manager at a full service hotel.
SPECIAL SKILLS: At least 6 months on-the-job exp in directing revenue management; the one year of job exp listed under requirements must include proficiency in computers, especially MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Outlook as well as various reservation and accounting software programs.
RATE OF PAY: $70,000/year
SCHEDULE: Full-time; 40hrs/wk.
Work schedule: Tuesday to Thursday: 9am to 5pm, and Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 1am. No OT.
